Before diving into the methods, it’s important to clarify a key term you’ll see throughout our site:
When we refer to "1 color," "2 colors," or "Full Color," we are talking about the number of ink colors used in the decoration process . Other decoration options like "embroidery" can include up to 8 thread colors, meanwhile options like "laser engraving" will have a "silver or black" look depending on the product, and "deboss" will have a "burned in look".
For example:
1-Color: Your logo will be reproduced in a single solid color. If your logo has multiple colors, it will need to be simplified to one. This is usually done either via silk screening or pad printing.
Important Note: Not all products support all decoration types. For example, if a product is listed as "1-color decoration only," a full-color logo cannot be applied—it must be converted to a single color. However, embroidery is an exception; it can often accommodate multiple thread colors (up to 8) as long as there are no gradients, depending on the design and fabric.
Please note that depending on the decoration type it may affect the product's price.
Best for: Irregular surfaces, small areas, and hard materials like plastic, metal, or glass.
How it works: Ink is transferred from a silicone pad onto the product surface.
Pros: Excellent for curved or textured items; precise detail.
Cons: Typically limited to 1–2 colors per pass; not ideal for large areas.
Ideal for: Pens, USB drives, tech accessories, and promotional gadgets.
Best for: Flat or slightly curved surfaces like apparel, tote bags, and posters.
How it works: Ink is pushed through a mesh screen onto the material. Each color requires a separate screen.
Pros: Vibrant, durable colors; cost-effective for bulk orders.
Cons: Limited to solid colors; setup costs increase with more colors.
Ideal for: T-shirts, hoodies, canvas bags, and paper products.
Best for: Apparel, hats, and bags where a premium, textured look is desired.
How it works: Thread is stitched directly into the fabric using a computerized machine.
Pros: High-end appearance; durable and wash-resistant; supports multiple thread colors and subtle shading.
Cons: Not suitable for very fine details or gradients on small items; higher setup cost.
Ideal for: Corporate uniforms, branded hats, and luxury giveaways.
Best for: Metal, wood, leather, and some plastics.
How it works: A laser beam removes material to create a permanent mark.
Pros: Extremely durable; elegant, minimalist look; no ink required.
Cons: Typically monochrome (one color); limited to light-on-dark or dark-on-light contrast.
Ideal for: Awards, pens, tech cases, and executive gifts.
Best for: Items with complex graphics, photos, or gradients.
How it works: Ink is digitally printed or heat-transferred onto the surface, allowing for millions of colors.
Pros: Unlimited color range; great for detailed artwork.
Cons: Usually limited to specific substrates (e.g., coated metals, polyester fabrics); may not be as durable as other methods on high-wear items.
Ideal for: Mugs, phone cases, sportswear, and promotional posters.
Best for: Apparel and soft goods where flexibility is key.
How it works: Pre-cut vinyl or printed transfers are applied with heat and pressure.
Pros: Versatile; can include multiple colors and effects (glitter, metallic, etc.).
Cons: May peel over time with heavy washing; less durable than embroidery or screen printing.
Ideal for: Event shirts, team uniforms, and short-run promotions.
Best for: leather and PU leather goods
Pros: professional appearance
